So heres my problem...they have a GIANT sign advertising "fresh strawberries" the waffle they advertised in their menu also states "fresh strawberries" the picture of the chocolate strawberry waffle is clearly a photo of FRESH strawberries with chocolate SHAVINGS and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Looks awesome! Naturally when I point at the picture and say Ill take that I assume thats what Ill be getting. Nope. Strawberry compote. No chocolate shavings but instead TONS of hersheys syrup. If i wanted soggy bread I'd have ordered a pancake. When i mentioned this to the waitress she said "oh its a mix of fresh strawberries and compote" no, no its not. there was not ONE real strawberry in there. Its stupid to be upset about it, but the fact of the matter is you shouldn't advertise fresh strawberries all over the place then give that syrupy nasty compote shit. Incredibly misleading.

Two of us came in for a quick lunch on a Monday at about 12:30. We were greeted immediately and shown to our booth. I went to the restroom to wash up. I returned to our booth and we waited to place our order. We placed our orders and waited to be served. After a few minutes I reminded the server that we had asked for beverages upon being seated. The gal said, "Oh yeah, I forgot", and went to get them. Several minutes later she returned with our drinks. When I placed my order she asked if I wanted my soup first or if I wanted with my sandwich. I told her she could bring it all at the same time. A few minutes later a young guy from the kitchen brought our orders out, minus my soup. I had to ask our server about my soup and she said, "Oh yeah, you had soup...". My soup came out right away and she apologized for forgetting. At no point during our meal did she visit our table to check on us. I had to flag her down to ask for a refill on my water. Only when she presented the check did she ask how everything was. She knew I was less than pleased and made a feeble apology for the poor service. Had the place been busy I would have been a bit more tolerant with the mistakes. The fact is that the place was nearly empty and our server and a couple other employees seemed to be hanging out and laughing with each other, all but ignoring the few customers they had. The food was average but the service was inexcusably poor. I will never return to this Shari's location. I've had much better experiences at the Beavercreek and Willamette locations.

Portions were small. Was just the basic Denny's like cafe. Portions were very small, and my husband and I are small. The price is about $10 per plate, $2.49 for each soda. I wouldn't go there again, but it wasn't horrible. I could see a used needle hanging out of dirty bathroom trash. Usual highway cafe.

It's tough to get overly excited about a chain. Shari's is a good option for your basic comfort food. My family and I have eaten here a few times and it's consistently good. The service and the food are a notch above Denny's and there is also a slightly higher price in my opinion. We were seated quickly, I went for the chicken fried steak. While I've really enjoyed this in previous encounters, this time it just didn't make the cut. There was something off about the texture that I couldn't quite figure out. The salad was your typical small bowl of lettuce, 2 grape tomatoes and 3 slices of cucumbers with some shredded carrots and the dressing on the side. The wife likes the eggy dishes, and this time her eggs and hashbrowns were very much to her liking. The place is clean, predictable, safe and while it won't let you down, it won't knock your socks off either. We will continue to go back when we're hungry and not feeling very adventurous.

Traveling through, I stopped for a quick lunch to go. Ordered a well done veggie burger. Fellow at the counter treated me like a relative! Burger perfectly done, packed up with all the condiments I could need. I am very pleased. Wish I'd left more than the usual 20%.

Oregon-only Denny's-like chain. Exactly what you want for early morning breakfasts before hiking or exploring. The kind of diner coffee you pine for when travelling and service to DIE for! Obviously service is a mainstay of this chain. Really, really excellent, even intuitive and anticipatory service. Genuinely enthusiastic, actually singing and humming at work, joking with customers both regular and new. Amazing. Wish such hiring and training occurred everywhere. We happily filled out online surveys about the service after each visit...anything to recognize and thank the staff for starting many of our vacation days off in the best way possible. The food isn't fancy, ( and the waffles are a bit rubbery) but is hearty, and made exactly the way you want it. Actually, my steel cut oatmeal was the best I've had in any setting. Great big platters of food for my husband. An especially nice touch is the offering of real (and local) huckleberry/blackberry jams instead of plastic packets of Smuckers. P.S. We loved that Shari's menus call senior citizens "Honored Citizens." Military friendly, too. We value these things.

I was pretty disappointed. It was VERY busy when we got there (what I think of as "late lunch" on a Sunday, about 12:30), so I expected a bit of a wait. We were seated pretty quickly - within 15 minutes. Drink order taken almost immediately, food order maybe 5 minutes after. I ordered a pie shake with my meal, as well as the juice I'd ordered for a drink. The shake arrived probably 5-10 minutes after I ordered it, but the rest of the food was nowhere to be seen until 40 minutes after we'd been seated (a half hour after ordered), which for a Shari's is a bit much. No mention of the delay or its cause was made until 5-10 minutes before it was served, and then our server tried to say it was slow because I'd ordered a burger, which is a lunch item, and the kitchen was still focused on breakfast. He could have told me that when I ordered and I'd have changed my order, if that was really the reason. Also, having the shake show up so far before the meal wasn't cool. Shakes don't wait well; they melt unpleasantly. But I didn't want us to fill up on it before our food arrived. The turkey burger he said delayed us managed to taste like cardboard AND yet have bits of gristle in. Our server did ask if I wanted a new one when I commented on this, but considering my toddler was about to melt down and we'd been there 45 minutes, I just wanted to eat (even if that meant a dry burger) and get out of there. The fruit was okay, a little blah. My husband's ham bone plate was delicious (thank goodness he let me try bites, something tasted good unlike my order!). The restaurant seemed pretty clean to me; our server was only barely present at our table, as they were pretty swamped, and seemed cheerful but not entirely helpful.

I must say that this was the WORST Shari's I have ever been to. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but after my most recent experience, I had no choice. To start off, the service was extremely slow. Waiting 10 minutes for your server is unacceptable! They should know when they are seated and at least introduce themselves. When the food finally arrived after 35 minutes, it was COLD!!!! You would think that the longer you wait, the hotter your food would be. All the hashbrowns came out cold. Not to mention the Apple Cobbler Pancakes were not cooked all the way. The Eggs Benedict was a joke. It too came out cold and apparently the cooks don't know how to poach an egg. They must think that poaching an egg is the same as hard boiling an egg because it was cooked all the way through. To sum up: slow service, cold food, and incompetent cooks represent this Shari's. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and definitely will not be coming back to this one again. If want don't want fast service and hot food, then this is the place for you.

It's Shari's the food is always the same its not gourmet but it is consistent. The service here on the graveyard shift is always good and the food is what it is. The pies and shakes are pretty good.

Oregon City has two Shari's Restaurants. This particular property is located in the Oregon City Shopping Center on McLoughlin Boulevard. The previous reviewer found the interior to be dirty. However, my experience was just the opposite. On my visit Shari's was sparkling clean both inside and out. The food and service were also on par with other Shari's locations. Our server Kelly was outstanding. The manager was also a very friendly and talkative man. The staff did a great job of looking after us. We sampled the chicken fried steak dinner. For $9.99 you receive a generous helping of chicken fried steak and a choice of two sides. The side dishes were well presented and prepared. Creamy mashed potatoes and delicious steamed vegetables. Shari's pies looked extremely tempting but we had no room for them after we finished our generous dinner servings. Most everyone deserves a second chance. So pleased to be the second reviewer of the Shari's Restaurant at the Oregon City Shopping Center. Like other Shari's Restaurants this location can serve you up some great American comfort food at very reasonable prices.

Ground zero for the training of bad service. Go here if you enjoy getting an upsetting dinning experience. The worst of all the Shari's I've been to in Oregon and Washington. And baby, that's saying a lot. You make Denny's seem to be ran like a well oiled machine.

Eat during the graveyard shift when the restaurant isn't packed with drunkards! I had a great Farmhouse breakfast. I used to work at Shari's once upon a time..... Gravy could've been hotter on my biscuits and the coffee is always shit! Other than that it was great. It was great for Shari's as well!

I see so many negative reviews about this chain. I've been here twice and both times, it's been delicious. If you want a place that is actually open late which there aren't many, come get some good comfort food. If you think the service is so slow, then go home and cook it yourself. It looks like limited staff but they take care of business. I just moved to Oregon and I am very appreciative of the service. Servers get busy. It's a lot of work but they have it. To all the previous post haters, chilllllllll!

I wish there was a way to give negative stars to this restaurant. The service wasn't great but it came down to the disgusting food we had in front of us. I ordered an omelet and got water and something sorta looking like eggs and some veggies. I got pancakes as my side and they didn't put them on separate plates and since the eggs were rubber and water the water soaked into my pancakes. My friend got the breakfast platter and his eggs had cheese on top... Wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese on the eggs, the hash browns weren't cook though and soggy and wet also. The best part of our meal was the milkshakes which also didn't come til half way though our disgusting meal to help wash down what we could stomach to eat. They also had to fix the order of the platter since he got pancakes and asked for French toast. They replaced my pancakes with his French toast... The food was the most boring looking disgusting thing I've seen. I will not be going back to try again unless there is a huge change in the quality of food and service and everyone in the kitchen.

I was in this area of town for a wedding and this restaurant happened to be a few blocks from the hotel I was staying at. If we were in town a little longer, we probably would have come here daily! We were sat next to a door that lead to a room full of gambling machines. I'm not sure if that's normal for Portland, but it was exciting and interesting to us! When we finally settled down and took a look at the menu, the first thing we noticed was PIE SHAKES! Yes, you read that correctly. Pie....Shakes.... I wasn't sure how to feel about that combination. They had a case displayed right when you first walked in showing off their fresh baked pies (strawberry, dutch apple, chocolate cream, etc.). I tried to imagine what a pie shake would be...would it be pie inspired? NOPE! Actually bites of pie in the amazingly tasty shake!!! I ordered the peanut butter, chocolate and marshmallow pie shake and my best friend ordered the apple pie shake. Both were so incredibly tasty, we almost forgot to leave room for the meals we ordered! I got a caprese burger (complete with a mozzarella patty, fresh basil, tomato, and a sweet balsamic glaze). And I got to pick Tater Tots as my side order!! Overall, I was in heaven. I'm making a trip back up here just to come back for the pie shakes.

The worst food and staff ever!! After being told they were out of prime rib. We ordered a strawberry ice tea it was so bad could not drink. After putting order in. Waited 45 minutes to get food. This is after waitress forgot to put order in. The food was not close to what was pictured on menu. It was small and awful. We were told the food would be comped. When the bill came we were charged for the full amount. We asked to talk to manager and he was being very nasty towards us and said he would only comp 1/3 of the bill. We left there very unhappy and still hungry. We will never be back and would recommend no one else waste your money. You will be very disappointed in this restaurant. I don't remember having a good experience at any Sherri's restaurant. Go to Elmers never had a bad meal there.
